Mandrogy

This is one of those places that isn’t really a place. It is an island, reachable by ferry or boat. There are quite a few historical-looking, brightly painted buildings housing local artisans. So, if you want souvenirs really truly made in Russia, this is a good place to go. However, I read on Wikipedia (the source of all information, yes?) that this village was built in 1996 specifically to entertain tourists on the tour boats out of St Petersburg.

It was pleasant to be able to leave the ship, and to take a walk in the forest.

So today, I present a few photos of Russian forest and wildflowers.
