St Petersburg on foot

Today, I took a tour of St Petersburg on foot.  We began with a trip on the Metro. It was built following WWII, and is very deep underground.
It is really quite a beautiful city -- many open public gardens and interesting buildings. And, it was a bright sunny day.

St Petersburg also has many canals. When Peter the Great designed the city, it was built on a swamp, and he envisioned the city as the Venice of the North. So there are many canals.
